Mixing into single use bags is still a problem at bigger volumes. The problem is that the mixing unit has to be an integral part of the bag assembly and must be able to be pre-sterilized by gamma radiation. Further, it must still be economically feasible to implement a mixing unit (rotor or stirrer) into a disposable unit. Also, the mixing unit needs to be driven (mostly electrical) to create the movement of the liquid within the bag without braking sterility or integrity of the bag assembly.
